Have you ever repeated your name so often to yourself that it began to sound silly? That it made no sense whatsoever, and then you began to wonder what on earth your parents were thinking putting those syllables together, and demanding that people call you that? Repeated it until it had no meaning whatsoever?
The word "hooker" is becoming like that to me.
